Lung cancer is now the UK's most deadly form of cancer. Partly because of how difficult it is to detect, with 75% of cases only being found once it’s progressed to stage III or IV.

But a recent NHS study revealed that early screening with CT scans can detect 70% of cases at stage I or II,
when it is still operable. We need a national screening programme, like with breast and prostate cancer.
